We're very proud to announce that our team is growing with the addition of David Hudson Jr. David joins the BGS team from Memphis Tennessee, but he's no stranger to trout fishing or the Little Red River.
David began trout fishing with his father in the Ozarks at the age of 13 and has been fly fishing for more than 20 years. In addition to his time on the Little Red, he fishes throughout the country with a regular rotation of the Rocky Mountains, the San Juan River in New Mexico and the Big Horn in Montana.
He joined the Army at 19 years old and completed one tour in Iraq as a Counter Improvised Explosive Device Clearance Team. He was honorably discharged in 2006. David was stationed in Fort Carson Colorado for three years which allowed him to fish lots of rivers out West. He also lived in Connecticut for a year where he fished a lot of the East mountain rivers like the Housatonic and the Farmington rivers upstate. During his time in Chesapeake Virginia, he fished the Elizabeth River did a ton of inshore and offshore salt water fishing.
David currently serves as an assistant director for the River City Healing Waters group in Memphis, where he teaches wounded veterans to fly fish, tie flies, build fly rods, and cast.
We're very lucky to have David on our team and can't wait to get him out on the river and serving our clients. David will be spin fishing and fly fishing for our team. If you book a trip with him, you'll get to use his own hand tied flies.
